Turin Airport Transfer: Car, Taxi & Bus Guide

Turin Airport - officially Turin Caselle Airport (TRN) - is located approximately 16 km north of the city centre in Caselle Torinese. With clear roads, the drive takes around 25 minutes; during rush hour or ski-season weekends, allow 40 minutes. Here is what you need to know about every transfer option.

Airport Taxi

Official white taxis queue outside the arrivals building at Terminal 1. Turin operates a fixed-rate taxi system for the airport–city centre corridor.

Fixed fare: approximately €35–€45 as of 2026 for up to 4 passengers and standard luggage. Night rates (22:00–06:00) and Sunday/public holiday surcharges add around 10%. Ask the driver to confirm the flat airport rate before you start - it should be displayed on a tariff card.

For groups of 5–7 passengers, a licensed minivan taxi is available from the same rank; expect approximately €55–€65 for the same corridor.

Journey time to central Turin (Piazza Castello, Porta Nuova station) is typically 25–35 minutes. During the January–March ski season, pre-booking is advisable as taxis fill quickly when multiple charter flights arrive from northern Europe.

Airport Bus (Sadem)

Sadem operates the official airport shuttle between TRN and Turin city centre. This is the most cost-effective link and runs regularly throughout the day.

• Journey time: Approximately 40–50 minutes to Porta Nuova (central)

The bus stops at Porta Susa (northwest Turin, good for the Quadrilatero Romano district and new congress centre hotels) before terminating at Porta Nuova station in the heart of the city.

Last service: Check the current timetable - evening buses typically run until around 23:30 from the airport. Flights arriving after that window require a taxi or pre-arranged transfer.

Private Transfer

A private transfer is the smoothest option when you have multiple bags, are travelling in a group, or need to connect directly to a hotel outside the central zone (e.g., near the Lingotto or the Reggia di Venaria Reale). Services like Welcome Pickups, Kiwitaxi, and GetTransfer lock in a fixed price when you book in advance.

Rental Car

All major rental companies - Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Budget, Sixt - operate from the arrivals hall. The route into central Turin is straightforward: take the SP2 toll road south, which becomes the main artery into the city.

Turin’s city centre has ZTL restrictions that affect certain streets; most hotels are accessible with a booked pass. Paid parking is available at several central sites including Parcheggio San Secondo and near Piazza Vittorio Veneto.

Useful Tips

Ski season: From December through March, flights arrive from ski markets across Europe on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. The taxi rank can have long queues; private transfer or pre-arranged taxi is worth it during peak weekends.

Porta Susa vs Porta Nuova: If your accommodation is in the Quadrilatero Romano (north of the city centre), Porta Susa is the more convenient drop-off from the Sadem bus. For hotels near Piazza Castello or the Egyptian Museum, ride to Porta Nuova and walk or use a local taxi.

No direct train: Unlike Milan’s airports, Turin Caselle does not have a direct rail link to the city centre. The Sadem bus or taxi/transfer are your only realistic options without a rental car.

Return journey: The Sadem bus from Porta Nuova departs from the same stop. Allow an extra 15–20 minutes compared to inbound journey time if travelling during morning rush hour (07:30–09:00) or early afternoon on weekdays.
