Verona Airport Transfer: Car, Bus & Taxi Guide

Verona Villafranca Airport - officially Valerio Catullo International Airport (VRN) - sits approximately 12 km southwest of the city centre. On a good run, you can clear arrivals and be walking along Via Mazzini in under 30 minutes. Here is everything you need to know about getting between the airport and the city.

Airport Taxi

Official taxis queue outside the arrivals exit. Journey time to central Verona is typically 20–25 minutes depending on traffic on the A4 motorway approach.

Fixed-rate zone pricing applies for journeys between the airport and Verona city centre. As of 2026, the flat fare is approximately €25–€35. Night surcharges (22:00–06:00) and public holiday rates add roughly 10–15% to the meter. Confirm the fixed rate before departure - drivers are required to offer it.

Taxis take up to 4 passengers and standard luggage. For larger groups or extra bags, a minivan taxi can be requested at the desk; expect approximately €45–€55 for the same route.

Booking tip: You do not need to pre-book a taxi from Verona Airport - the rank is always staffed during operating hours. However, if you want a guaranteed vehicle at arrival time, especially for early morning or late-night flights, it is worth reserving in advance through the Radiobus service or a private transfer provider.

Bus (Aerobus)

The ATV Aerobus is the most economical option. It runs directly between the airport and Verona Porta Nuova railway station, the main transport hub south of the historic centre.

Useful Tips

Night flights: The Aerobus does not run 24 hours. If you land after midnight, a taxi or pre-booked transfer is your only option. Budget accordingly.

Return journey: Taxis from the city centre to the airport are metered without a fixed rate in the reverse direction - expect a similar price to the inbound trip. The Aerobus also departs from Porta Nuova station; check the current timetable at the ATV website before your departure day.
